“If you look the right way, you can see that the whole world is a garden.”
Frances Hodgson Burnett
The Secret Garden
In The Secret Garden, as Mary, Colin, and Dickon nurture the long neglected garden back to life, they discover a deeper truth: beauty and wonder are all around us — if only we have eyes to see. The above quote invites us to adopt this same outlook of optimism, perspective, and even delight.
In this project, we’ll bring these words to life through whimsical doodle lettering. As you illustrate the quote with vines, flowers, and fanciful designs, you’ll not only practice creative lettering — you’ll also reflect on how art, like a garden, helps us notice the beauty that surrounds us every day.
