Bring the Charm of England into Your Homeschool

There’s something timeless and inspiring about England- its rolling countryside, classic literature, beloved traditions, and rich history have sparked curiosity in learners for generations. That’s exactly what our England curriculum is designed to do: bring the heart of England into your homeschool in a way that’s both meaningful and engaging for your family.

Rooted in Charlotte Mason’s gentle approach, this curriculum invites your children to explore the beauty of English culture through living books, poetry, music, nature study, and hands-on experiences. From Shakespeare and C.S. Lewis to English folk songs and cozy teatime treats, every lesson is crafted to delight and educate at the same time.

Whether you’re sketching English flora and fauna, baking scones for an afternoon tea, or learning about St. George, England weaves together history, geography, and the arts in a way that makes learning feel like a grand adventure.

This isn’t just about memorizing facts: it’s about growing a love for learning, sparking imagination, and creating memories together. So brew a pot of tea, gather your children, and come explore England from the comfort of your own home.

Add an English Poem to Your Tea Time:

We have included several poetry selections from our featured British poet, Edmund Spenser, best known for writing the epic poem The Faerie Queene! We have also included a biography of his life, as well as several other English poetry selections. For each poem, we have created copywork sheets for ages ranging from primary through high school, perfect for deeper study! Here is a sample of one of our favorite pieces:

Excerpt from The Faerie Queene, Book V, Canto II, Stanza 43
by Edmund Spenser

For take thy ballaunce, if thou be so wise,

And weigh the winde, that vnder heauen doth blow;

Or weigh the light, that in the East doth rise;

Or weigh the thought, that fro[m] mans mind doth flow.

But if the weight of these thou canst not show,

Weigh but one word which from thy lips doth fall.

For how canst thou those greater secrets know,

That doest not know the least thing of them all?

Ill can he rule the great, that cannot reach the small.

Paint an Iconic Symbol of England with this Art Lesson!

The Tudor Rose is one of the most famous symbols of England. It came about after a long war between two powerful families: Lancaster, represented by a red rose, and York, represented by a white rose. In 1485, Henry Tudor of Lancaster defeated Richard III of York and became King Henry VII. To bring peace, he married Elizabeth of York, uniting the two families. Their roses were joined together: red on the outside for Lancaster and white on the inside for York- to create the Tudor Rose. This beautiful flower became a symbol of peace, unity, and a new royal beginning. In this art lesson, we’ll bring history to life by painting the Tudor Rose in acrylics.
